Poo-Lagoo
Poo-Lagoon is a 3 acre sub-section of Mount George, Picadillly, dedicated to Camp Poo-Lagoon. The campgrounds are nestled safely inside of thick native bushland, a mud-thick lagoon, are surounded by secure and patroled fencing, and are only accessible by one un-mapped road. Eligible youth and their families can build and get back to a base love of the outdoors, develop new skills, and meet families in similar circumstances.
Star Scouts
Star Scouts is a unique Scouts SA Group that provides an alternative scouting program for youth aged 5 - 26 who through special circumstance cannot attend a mainstream Scout Group.
Star Scouts meet 3 times a year:
- Years beginings. 24th of January. Youth brainstorm, discuss, and plan their time at Poo-Lagoon.
- Camp Poo-Lagoon. 16th of June - 6th of July. 4 week camp. Find more details in our Activities page.
- Awards Ceremony 13th of July. Youth are rewarded their badges.
Youth are guided through the Scouts SA reward system, where they learn to PLAN>DO>REVIEW to build independence, lifelong skills, and memories.
Star Scouts is not the same as the Lone Scouts. The Lone Scouts are youth who cannot access a scouting group because they live in rural or remote places. Star Scouts are youth who cannot access a scouting group because of societal expectations . For more information, visit our Eligibility page.
Your child may be eligible to be a star scout if:
- They are not easily well interpreted in public (Viewed as a monstrous other; Posessed, Mutated, Cryptid.).
- They exibit magical abilities or needs that are not well-managed by non-magical people (Communication, Movement, Eating, Toileting.).
- Their existance is unknown to the wider public.
Not sure if yoru child qualifies? Contact Ladies at L.D.Poolagoon@gmail.com to discuss.

Camp-Grounds
Our camp-grounds are avaialble for use for eligible families. Throughout the seasons you will find many families in like-circumstances to meet and rekindle with. As our land is attatched to a large lagoon, it oftern is inaundated with mud, as such camp sites need to be selected carefuly. You must stay with-in your assigned camp cite. Tents, sleeping bags, and activity kits are available to rent. During our yearly youth camp the camp-grounds are unavailable.
Camp Kitchen
Our Camp Kitchen is a shared facility for campers and acts as a tent-base during our yearly youth camp. It is well-powered and sheltered. There is a fridge, power station, and 3 large BBQs. Dish soap, a sponge, and a surface cleaner are provided. There is a kettle and toaster that can be taken down to the camp kitchen at the mainbuilding, but they must be returned at the end of your stay.
Original Chambers.
Sitting right outside our mainbuilding is the historial home of John Chambers, the man responsible for establishing Star Scouts (then known as Chambers Scouts.) He knew two children who were unable to attend a regular scout group. He thourght this was not the scouting way, so he forged a new type of group. The chambers family lived in the Chamber home for 15 years before donating it and the surounding land to Chambers Scouts (now known as Star Scouts). The first camps were held in the Chambers home in 1942.
The Original Chambers are available to rent for events for families of Star Scoutd. It holds 3 main bedroom with queen sized beds, 1 bunkroom with 3 bunks, a well-equiped kitchen, an entertainment room, and a large patio BBQ area.
